A sketch of a beautiful little flowering tree (Hydrangea paniculata) from my mother's garden in Russia. Some yellow Rudbeckia laciniata Goldball flowers on the background.

It was quite a challenge to do outdoor sketches near Moscow during summer 2010 because of incredible heat and smock from peat fires. I had to work as fast as I could.

A rather gloomy sketch based on a vision of several things from real world all mixed up together. E.g. some TV programms here in UK where they cut animals to pieces ("Inside nature Giants" I think its called, don't really watch it), talking to somebody about Tolkiens elves, my desire to read people as an open book, reading about somebody who reminds me an elf in some respect, etc.

Of course you are free to interprete this as you like, but my idea was like that: Somehow humans have got the body of a last elvish king and minstrel ever lived and they put it in a public autopsy show performed by a pretty Scully-like doctor and a huge crowd watching, cameras flashing. As the doctor proseedes, she try to imagine what that person was like, what he loved, etc. And she failes at that which is a bit of allegory for failure to grasp one's soul essence by mechanically analysing one's personality...

Michael Archangel Artist Small Print with Embroidery

Had to move them from Ebay as they are introducing another terrible rule. I definitely know now Ebay is THE MOST UNPLEASANT AND UNFRIENDLY SITE ON WEB. Pity there is no real alternative.

 

Done a black tulip and dandelions in the garden painting, continuing working on "17 faces" acrylic and ink painting.

 An outdoor watercolor, ink pens and pencils painting of daisy-like yellow flowers of Elecampane, also called Horse-heal (Inula helenium) or Marchalan (in Welsh). Done on a sunny August day in my mother garden in Russia. If you look carefully you may notice a brown butterfly, sitting on one of the flowers.
