Archway original pastel painting

A painting done with fast expressive pastel strokes.

Soft pastel is one of my favourite media. I love painting places I've never been to, imagining myself visiting them. The photograph which inspired me probably was from Wetcanvas artist image database but I can't remember where this place was.

St Michael Church in Breaston, Derbyshire, UK
We used to live near to this ancient village church in East Midlands. I painted this outdoors, in winter, standing by the local coop shop till a delivery lorry blocked my view. Just as well because then I realized how frozen I was! Soft pastel on pastel paper. The original artwork (about A3 in size) has been sold.

Another Nebula
A soft pastel abstract painting. It had a bit of story to it. I left it unattended and my son who was quite young at that time had drawn dark brown lines all over the picture. I've got upset first but then managed to incorporate them into the painting... The original (was about A4 in size) is sold.

Dunes and Stars
Dunes and Stars by ~linandara on deviantART
The sea of sand dunes under incredible stars (or comets?) and a silhouette of a bird of prey passing by. Either a poetic vision of this world or a glimpse of another one... This first has been done as a soft pastel and golden ink pen sketch from imagination. Edited in Photoshop.

Ginkgo Alley in Autumn, Alexandria, VA
Ginkgo Alley in Autumn, Alexandria, VA by Alexandra Cook
Sunlit golden falling leaves of ginkgo biloba, an alley, a bench, a part of a building, distant fountain. If I remember correctly, the place was near metro station. The original (pastel, pencils, pen & ink and watercolor) is for sale.
