A sketch I did looking at my mothers flowerpots. We both really like balsam flowers. This painting/drawing is done with watercolors and pigment ink pens on watercolour card. The size is about 30 x 21 cm (12 x 8.5 inches). Unframed. You can either frame it as it is or crop to a square (both options are shown).

Clematis and lilies in my friends garden - the print

Quick, loose, expressive watercolor sketch made in July in a beautiful garden near Moscow, Russia. The flowerbed is partly in the sun and partly overshadowed by silver birch, plum and hazelnut trees. Purple clematis, all sorts of lilies and a bit of white roses. The original artwork was 12 x 16 inches (30 x 40 cm) (sold).

Another Nebula

A soft pastel abstract painting. It had a bit of story to it. I left it unattended and my son who was quite young at that time had drawn dark brown lines all over the picture. I've got upset first but then managed to incorporate them into the painting... The original (was about A4 in size) is sold.

Impressionist Night...

Strange (victorian?) lamp light, leafless trees, orange glow in the air. A surreal impressionist vision of somewhere long ago and far away...

Originally painted with oil pastel on black paper, then colors were adjusted digitally.

The second image is a very recent one, just a few days old. An outdoor (plein air) artwork, done in early March 2010 in Newtown, Powys, Wales. It was an cold overcast day, the field were still yellowish after harsh winter, birch trees stood leafless. I love this "zig-zag" hill near where I live. The pattern is made of hedges and roads between fields. I struggled with this one a lot, then suddenly started using a thick golden permanent ink marker converting it into a sort of stained glass picture. The way the golden lines look change depending on your point of view. I am really happy with this one.
