An outdoor watercolor, ink pens and pencils painting of daisy-like yellow flowers of Elecampane, also called Horse-heal (Inula helenium) or Marchalan (in Welsh). Done on a sunny August day in my mother garden in Russia. If you look carefully you may notice a brown butterfly, sitting on one of the flowers. The size of the original painting is approximately 12 x 8.5 inches, on sale here: http://www.artfire.com/modules.php?name=Shop&op=listing&product_id=436259
In the summer 2009 we had incredible amount of butterflies near Moscow. I've been watching them landing on theese lovely (although wild and invasive) flowers for hours.
I'm a homemaker and an artist. I used to work in planetary science. My
native city is Moscow.
I am a dreamer. I enjoy painting lanscapes, still life, portraits,
animals and abstract pictures. I like creating figurative story-telling works
reminding illustrations from books never written or still images from
non-existing films. I like playing with
wide range of media (soft & oil pastels, acrylic, oil, pen and ink,
pencils, digital, photography, textile) and their combination. I like to challenge myself to make one of the kind rather than mass-produced work using different combination of media and variuos subjects. Always experimenting and finding new exciting possibilities. Per aspera ad astra, post tenebras lux. The new website I am working on http://site.linandara.co.uk/ My Old Web
