Another Nebula

A soft pastel abstract painting. It had a bit of story to it. I left it unattended and my son who was quite young at that time had drawn dark brown lines all over the picture. I've got upset first but then managed to incorporate them into the painting... The original (was about A4 in size) is sold.

A sitting woman with a green veil and two standing figures. Open to your

It started as a life drawing sketch, then I made it into an acrylic & paper collage painting with lots of texture, about A3 in size, sold. This version is slightly digitally edited.

A combination of paper collage, acrylic and oil pastel, inspired by the beautiful flower-like shape of the Orion Nebula. There is a bit of text on some pieces of paper, one says "winter blue". The original artwork was about A3 in size, sold.

Brecon. Revisited

We went here last Saturday. Still some snow on the hills.
Canal at Brecon, Wales, print print
Canal at Brecon, Wales, print by Linandara

This picture was taken in summer 1999, recently edited digitally. Notice the dramatic Welsh sky and light, rich greens. Some buttercup flowers are visible on the foreground.

Impressionist Night...

Strange (victorian?) lamp light, leafless trees, orange glow in the air. A surreal impressionist vision of somewhere long ago and far away...

Originally painted with oil pastel on black paper, then colors were adjusted digitally.

Observation Point

An unusual modern impressionist fantasy painting: A group of people on a terrace overlooking some unearthly landscape with a town and a flying mashine (spaceship). Strange writings are seen through hot and dusty background. Thick and thin acrylic brushstrokes, the original painting was approximately 50 x 40 cm, on board (sold).

Old Painting. New print:

added work to redbubble.com

I did this from our appartment window in Alexandria, in 2000 or 1999, looking towards Potomac river. Soft pastel on paper. The original painting is sold (the size was about A4).

A new Gypsy Mermaid pendant...

Alexandra Cook listed a new item on Etsy: This is a part of my Gypsy Mermaid collection, which is all about uncharted seas, empty beaches, pebbles, driftwood, and even mysterious water-polished remnants of long gone civilizations. Something for an "inner mermaid": original, natural and wild.
I love collecting pebbles and feathers on the beach. This set comes from Mundesley in Norfolk, UK. The thread imitates some exotic seaweed.
The necklace is about 16 inches (40 cm) long, the thread could be made shorter. The weight is about 24 g (3/4 oz).
Will also look great worn on the beach.

Fantasy Happy Birthday Card with a tree

Dunes and Stars

Dunes and Stars by ~linandara on deviantART

The sea of sand dunes under incredible stars (or comets?) and a silhouette of a bird of prey passing by. Either a poetic vision of this world or a glimpse of another one... This first has been done as a soft pastel and golden ink pen sketch from imagination. Edited in Photoshop.

The second image is a very recent one, just a few days old. An outdoor (plein air) artwork, done in early March 2010 in Newtown, Powys, Wales. It was an cold overcast day, the field were still yellowish after harsh winter, birch trees stood leafless. I love this "zig-zag" hill near where I live. The pattern is made of hedges and roads between fields. I struggled with this one a lot, then suddenly started using a thick golden permanent ink marker converting it into a sort of stained glass picture. The way the golden lines look change depending on your point of view. I am really happy with this one.

Abstract Roses 3

I can't stant wasting anything, so when I have some acrylic paint left on my palette I would do some doodles. This is one of the examples (The Fight in the same gallery is another one). After selling the original work (acrylic and ink pen on cardboard) I did several digital versions, varing the colors. Hence the number 3.
